A new clip from ‘The Hobbit’ has been released – incidentally, of one of the most crucial scenes in the movie. The clip shows Ian McKellen [as Gandalf the Grey] giving Bilbo Baggins ‘Sting’, which as Lord of The Rings fans will recognize as the sword that is gifted to Frodo from Bilbo in ‘Fellowship of the Ring’.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be released in just two weeks and stars Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, in addition to a host of returning characters such as Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Cate Blanchett, and Ian McKellen.
It is being predicted to become one of the year’s biggest hits and open to more than a $140 million in its opening weekend, which is a feat in itself since 2012 already has four movies that have opened to above that much: The Hunger Games, Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, and Breaking Dawn: Part 2.

The plot of ‘An Unexpected Journey’ sticks pretty close to the first half of the novel that the film is based on, but there have been some parts that have been streamlined and others that have been cut completely. The clip [which can be viewed here] is present more or less in the exact same form that it was in the book.
