After the huge blowout between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey on American Idol, there were rumors abounding that Idol judges were planning on firing Minaj and possibly even Carey. However, Idol producers have cleared up that statement, saying, “"Despite all the accusations and media speculation -- much of which is inaccurate -- production is going extremely well today and the judges are focused on finding the best talent here in Baton Rouge.”

They added, “"This is one of the best, most passionate, dynamic and invested judging panels we've ever had. We love and support all of the judges and the fantastic work they are doing, and we can't imagine a better group to find the next American Idol.”
Keith Urban, another judge on the judging panel, also weighed in, saying that he loved all the conflict going on. He said, “"We're putting the fun back in dysfunction, that's what we're doing. We're four passionate people, some more so than others, and we're very intense artists and it comes out in different ways. But the great thing is we've been hearing killer singers."
So there you have it – neither Carey or Minaj is getting fired. However, it should be very interesting to see how they both interact with each other in the future, and whether this whole drama will result in a ratings increase for the show.
