The explosion of the EL James book 50 Shades of Grey meant that it was almost certainly going to be made into a Hollywood blockbuster and since it was confirmed that the book would be adapted for the big screen, there have been endless rumours about who will be playing the lead roles.
The male lead of billionaire Christian Grey has seen a whole host of names thrown into the mix but as of yet none have been confirmed. There has been talk of Christian Grey being played by Chris Pine, Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder and the most recent name to be linked to the role is Shia LaBeouf.

Then there is the role of the female lead of Anastasia Steele, which has had equally as many names linked to the role as the male lead. Some of the names linked to the role of Anastasia Steele include Emma Watson, Shailene Woodley and Emilia Clarke, who has become the fans favourite to win the part.
50 Shades of Grey is currently still in the early stages of development and, as well as not having the lead roles cast, they are still in search of a director. With that said, it is believed that the 50 Shades of Grey movie will be released sometime in 2014.
