It seems that one of the most popular things to do in Hollywood at the moment, is to take a classic movie and to adapt it into a new TV movie, which has actually been working quite well so far. As well as getting the television remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, we also got to see the impressive Grease Live!, both of which were hugely successful, so it is no surprise that we have even more coming our way.

One of the new classic movies that are being remade for the TV in the very near future, is the hugely popular 1987 movie Dirty Dancing, which gave us some fantastic musical numbers, as well as some of the best quotes in cinema history. Well, ABC is now bringing their Dirty Dancing remake to the small screen and we cannot wait to see whether they can do the movie justice.
Beautiful and talented actress Abigail Breslin has been cast in the role of Frances Houseman, better known in the movie as Baby, a role which was played by Jennifer Grey in the original film. Abigail has already been working hard to get herself in great shape for the role, channelling her inner Jennifer Grey in order to get a feeling for what Baby is all about.

Meanwhile, the role of Johnny Castle, who was played by the late great Patrick Swayze in the original Dirty Dancing film, has yet to be cast. What we do know is that this Dirty Dancing project has been adapted for the small screen by Wayne Blair and Jessica Sharzer, with Wayne also on directing duties for the movie. Let's hope that this can be just as impressive as the recent TV remakes before it.
