When it was first announced that Adam Lambert was going to perform with Queen it is fair to say that there were a lot of raised eyebrows, with many people questioning the decision. However, Adam proved that he was the ideal choice to perform with Queen and really impressed, converting many of the critics into fans along the way.
It has now been confirmed that Adam Lambert will once again head out on tour with Queen and, once again the negative comments have been thrown in the singers direction. Fortunately though, Adam has managed to take the comments on the chin and has hit back stating that those who choose not to go to the Queen tour are really going to miss out.
Lambert explained, "There were a few negative whispers the first time I did shows with Queen. If I focused on that what would be the point? If there’s somebody out there that feels really strongly that this isn’t the same Queen then don’t come. But if you don’t come you’re going to miss one hell of a show."
Meanwhile, Adam Lambert has also opened up about agreeing to tour with Queen, admitting that he was unsure about accepting the offer the first time around. Adam says that he is a huge Freddie Mercury fan and did not want to disrespect his idols memory.
Lambert added, “Obviously at the start I was apprehensive of what I was about to do. Freddie Mercury was one of my heroes. There will only ever be one Freddie Mercury. There’s no comparing. I can’t get close to some of the things he did."
Don't worry Adam, you have far from disrespected the memory of Freddie Mercury and we are sure that he would be proud to have you singing his songs.
