British singer/songwriter Adele has spent another week at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart making it 6 weeks at number 1. She joins only 3 other female solo artists in the past 10 years to spend that amount of time at the top. The other artists are as follows, Susan Boyle ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ 6 weeks, Norah Jones ‘Feels Like Home’ 6 weeks and Taylor Swift for both ‘Fearless’ which spent 11 weeks and ‘Speak Now’ which spent 6.
Adele, 23 today, is report to have sold another 124,000 copies of her multi-million selling album 21. The ‘Someone Like You’ singer has topped the UK album charts for the whole of the 1st quarter of this year and is expected to top the chart for her 14th week at No.1.
Adele is to hold a karaoke party in celebration of her birthday today and it is widely expected that she will perform her version of the R Kelly hit ‘Ignition’. Adele has recently revealed that she has a crush on fellow female solo artist Rihanna after seeing her perform on ‘The X Factor’ in the UK.
