Hollywood veteran Harrison Ford has been one of the top A listers in the business for over 20 years now but it seems that it was almost not to be for the star. Harrison Ford became a household name, thanks to his performances as Han Solo in the Star Wars movies and as Indiana Jones.
However, things did not almost go that way and it was only after some rejections from other actors that Harrison Ford was cast in these roles. Al Pacino has confirmed that he was offered the role of Han Solo, saying, "It was mine for the taking but I didn’t understand the script."
And Al was not the only one to reject the role, as James Caan, Kurt Russell and Christopher Walken were also offered the role but chose not to accept it. Then there was Harrison Ford's other famous role as Indiana Jones, which was offered to Tom Selleck, who rejected, leaving Harrison Ford to take it.
It would have been interesting to see if Harrison Ford would have become such a star, if these roles had have gone to other stars and whether or not the movies would have been such a success. Harrison Ford will reprise his role as Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII, which opens in 2015.
