Al Pacino to star in John Lennon movie

It has been reported that Al Pacino is in negotiations to star in the movie Imagine, which is inspired by the late John Lennon. If all goes well, Pacino will play an old rock star who finds a letter he received from John Lennon over 40 years ago. The discovery inspires him to change his ways and try to patch things up with his son.

It is thought Al Pacino is wanted for the film since its original star, Steve Carell was forced to give up the project due to scheduling conflicts. Carell, who is probably best known for his performances in The Office, was lined up to play the estranged son of the rock star.
Dan Fogelman, who wrote the screenplay for the movie Tangled, is set to take on the film as his first directorial project. Al Pacino is already lined up for a role in the movie Gotti, which is set to be directed by Barry Levinson.
