British actor Alan Rickman is considered one of the best actors in the industry and has appeared in some great roles in some fantastic movies over the years. Alan can now be seen in the movie CBGB and he has opened up about the music her grew up listening to in relation to the film.
Rickman told Huffington Post, "Obviously I was aware of the huge rise of The Police in England, and as an art student I was very much a fan of Talking Heads. And then Blondie, but I wasn’t a hard punk-rock fan at the time."
He added, "But of course I was also very much around the height of The Beatles and The Stones, so it was like that was the lone star and everything spun off from there. And [Bob] Dylan, very much so. ... England in the ‘60s and the ‘70s was everything that history has said; it was phenomenally exciting, musically. One was very shaped by that."
As well as starring Alan Rickman, CBGB boasts an impressive cast that includes Malin Akerman, Johnny Galecki, Rupert Grint, Kyle Gallner and Ashley Greene. CBGB is directed by Randall Miller and is out now in the US.
