True Blood star Alexander Skarsgard has now become the front-runner to play the King of the jungle in Tarzan, after it was revealed that he was director David Yates first choice for the role. No offer has yet been made but negotiations are expected to get underway in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, another top Hollywood star has been linked to the Tarzan movie. Samuel L Jackson is believed to be in line to appear in Tarzan as the lead character’s side kick, a veteran from the Civil War who is determined to redeem himself following the massacre of Native Americans.
