Alicia Vikander, after being rumored for some high-profile films this year [including Cinderella], has just landed two major roles. She is in talks to play the female lead opposite Tom Cruise and Armie Hammer in 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.' and she has also landed the female lead opposite Domhnall Gleeson in 'Ex Machina'.
Vikander is best known for her work in the foreign film 'A Royal Affair', which led to her being noticed in Hollywood. She soon landed a small role as Kitty in Joe Wright's 'Anna Karenina', which unfortunately failed to do well critically or commercially. That didn't seem to affect Vikander though, especially as she's been in contention for some of the most highly sought after roles these past two years. She was rumored to be in the running for Snow White when 'Snow White and the Huntsman', and she was also said to be on the studio shortlist for Cinderella in Disney's planned live action adaptation of the fairy tale.
'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.' will be a huge role for her and will introduce her to audiences worldwide, especially as Warner Brothers is planning for it to be a major blockbuster franchise.
Vikander will also be seen in 'The Seventh Son' later this year, as well as the Wikileaks/Julian Assange film 'The Fifth Estate'.
