Comic book characters seem to be taking over the acting industry these days, with a whole host of superhero movies hitting the big screen on a yearly basis, while there are also a number of television shows being made, based on comic book characters. One such character being adapted for television, is the DC favourite Supergirl, and we have decided to take a look at just a few actresses who could play the role.
First up we have the beautiful and talented Aly Michalka, who has played some interesting characters over the years and has the looks to pull of the role without too much effort. With that said though, Aly recently signed on to star in the new The CW television series iZombie, which means that she could be too busy to take on the Supergirl role.
Next up we have the British actress Laura Haddock, who is already familiar with the comic book and superhero genre, having already worked with Marvel in the past. Laura had a small role in Captain America: The First Avenger, before then going on to play Meredith Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy. Could her Marvel links prevent her from playing Supergirl?
There have been some suggestions that the Supergirl television series will focus on a younger version of the character, similar to what The CW did with Smallville. If that is the case, then actress Nicola Peltz would be ideal for the role, having the looks to play Supergirl, while also having age on her side.
Who do you think should play Supergirl in the new television series?
