It is always nice to see new and original television series being made and it is even more encouraging when we see those who do not usually make original series having success with their own projects. That has certainly been the case for the History Channel over the past few years, as it has enjoyed success with impressive shows such as Bible and Vikings.
Vikings is now in its second season, which recently premiered on the History Channel, and there are a lot of matters that will need clearing up this season. At the end of Vikings season one, we saw Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) sleep with Princess Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland). Now in Vikings season 2 we see Princess Aslaug turn up in Ragnars's village pregnant, something which Allyssa Sutherland has opened up about.
She explained, "Let’s break it down: a woman gets knocked up by a dude who is going on about how he has to have these sons and then he goes to back his wife in Kattegat and she’s left pregnant. What would you do? Wouldn’t you want to contact the guy and say, ‘Hey! We have a little situation that we have to deal with.’ Back in those times, she couldn’t pick up the phone."
It will be interesting to see what happens with the relationship of Ragnar and Princess Aslaug as the season progresses, as well as seeing how this will affect the relationship between Ragnar and his wife Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick). Vikings season two will continue to air on the History Channel on Thursday evenings, with the next episode airing on March 6.
