While there are a lot of interesting original movies being made in Hollywood every year, there are also a lot of sequels, prequels, remakes and reboots that come along too and we have quite a few to look forward to over the course of the next year or so. One of the upcoming prequels that has received a lot of interest recently is the Peter Pan prequel that is being titled Pan.
While we expect that almost all of you already know the back story behind Peter Pan, the movie Pan has been officially described as "The story of an orphan who is spirited away to the magical Neverland. There, he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny -- to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan."
The cast of Pan is already very impressive and has been adding a lot of new names to the cast over the past few days and weeks. It has now been confirmed that actress Amanda Seyfried has joined the cast of Pan where she will take on the role of Mary.
Meanwhile we will also see Jack Charles as The Chief/Tiger Lily’s father, Taejoo Na as Kwahu, Nonso Anozie as Bishop, Kathy Burke, as Mother Barnabas, Kurt Egyiawan as Murray, Lewis MacDougall as Nibs, and Leni Zieglmeier as Wendy Darling, with Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard, Garrett Hedlund as Hook, Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily, Adeel Akhtar as Smee, and Levi Miller as Peter.
Pan is being directed by Joe Wright, based on the screenplay that has been developed by Jason Fuchs, with filming set to begin any day now and a release date set for July 17, 2015 in both the US and the UK. We look forward to seeing what Joe Wright and co. come up with for Pan.
