Despite the fact that we have had two different Spider-Man movie franchises hitting the big screen in recent years, fans are still not happy with what they have been given and have called for Sony to hand the rights back to Marvel for many years. Their prayers were finally answered, when Sony agreed to let Marvel use Spider-Man in their movies, with fans eager to see what Marvel can do with the character.
Andrew Garfield was removed from the role of Peter Parker aka Spider-Man, with British actor Tom Holland being brought on board to play the role. Tom has now spoken a little about what he hopes to bring to the character, while heaping plenty of praise Andrew Garfield in the process.
Holland said, "I haven't [met him], but I'm a huge fan of Andrew and he's said some lovely things about me in the press the other day. He did such a good job as Peter Parker and it's really difficult not to copy him because what he did was so perfect and obviously there are going to be things that I might steal but I hope we get to meet and even work together in the future."
While Andrew Garfield starred in The Amazing Spider-Man movies, it looks like Tom Holland will be playing the Ultimate Spider-Man version of the character. We will first get to see Spider-Man appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, when he shows up in the upcoming movie Captain America: Civil War. We cannot wait!
