What is it with Hollywood and not being able to leave anything alone anymore. If they’re not making sequels to big franchises, they are rebooting them and when they are not rebooting them they are remaking movies. It seems that a week does not go by without there being a new sequel, reboot or remake of a movie reported to be in the works.
The latest one is American Psycho, which came out in 2000 and starred Christian Bale. The 2000 version of the movie, based on the book did leave out quite a few key moments from the book, which the remake could be set to focus on. Yet it was still a very enjoyable piece of movie making and even gave us a performance from Christian Bale, which threw him into the big time.
If a remake of American Psycho has gotten you riled at all, then the next bit of news will annoy you even more. It has been suggested that Lionsgate want to make the movie on a small budget. The job of trying to make this remake worthwhile is down to Noble Jones, who will be writing and directing the American Psycho remake. It will be his debut feature length project. Let’s hope he can prove us wrong and make an improved version of the movie but we doubt it.
