Pressure is an interesting thing and everybody deals with it in different ways. There are some people who seriously struggle to cope with pressure and fall apart when the going gets tough. Then there are those who thrive on pressure and come into their own when the pressure begins to mount.
One person who seems to thrive on pressure these days is American ski star Ted Ligety, who has managed to learn how to, not only cope with pressure but also to use it to his advantage. With the Sochi Winter Olympics getting ever closer, Ted will hope to make the US and prove himself against the best in the world.
During a recent interview, Ligety explained, "I'm happy to be in that spot. It means I'm skiing really well. Of course, with that, there's expectations and a little bit more pressure, but I've gotten better and better at handling it. In a lot of ways, it helps me focus more and succeed more as well."
Ted Ligety is considered one of the best skiers, not only in the US but also in the world, with many of his rivals feeling that a win is not really a win if Ted is not in the field. The Sochi Olympics will see Ted Ligety going into the games with a huge chance of walking away with a medal and we look forward to seeing him going head to head with the best in the business.
