British light-welterweight boxer Amir Khan has had a rather disappointing 2012 but will 2013 be better or worse? In 2012, Amir lost both his IBF and WBA light-welterweight titles and also decided to split from legendary trainer Freddie Roach.

Amir Khan first lost to Lamont Peterson, in rather controversial circumstances, before then getting wiped out by Danny Garcia. However, Amir managed to end the year on a high, by destroying Carlos Molina, setting up a possible rematch with Danny Garcia in 2013.
That could be the stepping stone to a hugely successful 2013 for Amir Khan. If Amir manages to beat Danny Garcia, it could set up a potential bout with pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather. There is also the chance of a domestic scrap with bitter rival Kell Brook.

However, if Amir Khan does get his rematch with Danny Garcia and is schooled in the same way that he was before, it could see 2013 being his worst year ever. Khan told The Sun, “I’m relieved 2012 is gone. I need to start next year with an emphatic win. 2013 could be my best year or it could be the worst year. That’s boxing.”
Whatever the case, it is set to be exciting for boxing fans either way, as Amir Khan is never involved in a dull fight.
