Amy Adams has been busy promoting her role as Lois Lane in 'Man of Steel', and she covers the latest issue of Allure Magazine. In the accompanying interview, Adams discusses what it took for her to 'become' Lois Lane, and what she thinks of Lois Lane's contemporary look in the film.
When discussing how she decided to sign on to play such an iconic character, Amy reveals, "I’ve wanted to be in a superhero movie, and this was my best chance — as some mere mortal. Let’s be real here. I don’t look good in Lycra. I do all right, but I hadn’t anticipated that I was ever going to be case as the girl in Lycra looking hot.”
She also calls her Lois Lane a 'little chubby' around the middle, explaining, "That’s all right. She flies around the world eating whatever’s available." Although Amy later took back her 'chubby' comment, saying, "No, I’m sorry I said that," the candidness on weight is refreshing.
By no means is Adam's Lane actually 'chubby' in the movie, but she looks like a real person instead of a stick-thin Hollywood actress. 'Man of Steel' is currently in theaters and along with Amy Adams, also stars Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Laurence Fishburne, and Antje Traue.
