Amy Adams is currently busy on the awards circuit as she has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars for her performance in ‘The Master’. She was currently on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno to take care of her promotional duties, and discussed her upcoming role as Lois Lane in ‘Man of Steel’.
She says, “I'm so excited. You're going to love it. [Costar] Henry [Cavill] is amazing. I was really into the movies and Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder. I really wanted to be Lois because I thought Superman was just awesome. I didn't think I was going to be an actress playing Lois, I just wanted to be Lois Lane."
One of the most amusing aspects of Superman that will be difficult to comprehend in such a modern re-imagining of the film is the fact that Lois doesn’t recognize that he is actually Clark Kent. In the older films, it was something that was passed over and not really given attention to – however, considering that Superman is supposed to be the love of Lois Lane’s life, wouldn’t she recognize him as the same person with his glasses on? Adams touches on the subject, saying, “It’s so funny, because I always loved how smart she was, and as an adult I’m like, ‘How smart was she actually that she didn’t notice that.’”
Man of Steel releases on June 14th and should be one of the biggest blockbusters of the summer. In addition to Adams, it stars Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, and Diane Lane.
