Amy Adams has given a recent interview to Digital Spy speaking about Philip Seymour Hoffman and working on ‘The Master’, which is in limited release in Los Angeles and New York right now.
Speaking of Hoffman, Adams says, “"I [have] worked with Phillip Seymour Hoffman before on Doubt and on Charlie Wilson's War, and I adore, worship, love Phillip. So to get to play someone in The Master who adores, worships and loves Phillip was not a big stretch for me.”
She also talked about control and playing a person of power, saying, “"It was fun to get to go toe-to-toe with him as a person of power," she quipped. "In some past roles I've been a bit more submissive, so it was great to get to overpower Phillip in The Master - because that's the only time that's ever going to happen in my life. I just have a great respect and reverence for what Phillip does and his work. I'm always honored to be on screen with him."
'The Master' had received strong reviews after premiering at the Venice International Film Festival and opening in limited release in Los Angeles and New York. The film stars Amy Adams, along with Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman. All three leads in the movie as well as the director are Oscar nominees or winners, adding to the prestige of the movie. Many are predicting it to be nominated for all the top categories at the Kodak next February.
