It seems that Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has become complacent in his job at Stamford Bridge, after claiming that the club cannot afford to sack him. It is believed that it would cost Chelsea around £20million to sack Andre Villas-Boas and after paying out his Porto contract to get him, it seems highly unlikely that they will be willing to pay even more just to get rid of him.
This causes a problem for the club, as Andre Villas-Boas will have no fear of being sacked, so poor performances and bad results will not worry him. This is not what a club needs and Chelsea are unlikely to see any dramatic improvements unless they get in somebody who feels the need to win and to look good doing so.
Andre Villas-Boas has had a very poor start to his Chelsea career, with a record that is worse than previous sacked managers Carlo Ancelotti, Felipe Scolari and Avram Grant. However, Andre Villas-Boas will not be sacked by Chelsea, as the club cannot afford to do so. Chelsea fans will be hoping that Andre can turn the clubs fortunes around but with his relaxed attitude regarding the sack, it does not seem likely.
