The world is full of some many beautiful women that it is no surprise that it is becoming increasingly difficult to make a name for yourself as a female model on the modelling scene. While these beautiful women have each other to contend with, it now seems that they also have men to consider, as the Australian model Andrej Pejic has now completed the sex change from male to female.
Andrej Pejic has not been shy about coming forward to talk to people about having the sex change and she has finally started to get the recognition as a female model. Andrej is signed to Chadwick modelling agency, who were the first to list her as a solely female model and Andrej has admitted that having the sex change has really changed her life for the better.
Pejic explained, "I think from my teenage years, when I decided I needed to express my femininity, I was happy with the way I looked. But SRS [sex reassignment surgery] is kind of the last part - it's sort of the icing on the cake. It makes me feel freer than ever. Now I can stand naked in front of a mirror and really enjoy my reflection. And those personal moments are important."
Not only is Andrej Pejic enjoying being recognised as a female model but she is also now being recognised as an actress, after landing a role in the Sofia Coppola big screen adaptation of The Little Mermaid, which has been adapted for the big screen by Caroline Thompson and is expected to begin shooting later in the year.
