The Amazing Spider-Man actor Andrew Garfield, who is set to portray the character Peter Parker aka Spider-Man in the forthcoming superhero movie, has revealed how Peter Parker tries to keep himself to himself in order to not get hurt. Andrew also reveals how he got into the mindset of his character.
Garfield explained to Total Film, “He’s a lone wolf… Erratic, angry, rebellious. It’s cool to be a nerd now. Peter is an outsider. Because that’s what he has to do to protect himself. He was dropped once; he doesn’t want to be dropped again. It’s difficult to get close to him.”
He added, “The stunts are home grown and grass roots. I plastered my walls with page after page of artwork and spent hours trying to get my body as extreme as possible. I didn’t want to be a bulky guy. I wanted to be a skinny kid beating the crap out of big guys.”
The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors aka The Lizard. The Amazing Spider-Man is directed by Marc Webb and is set to be released on July 3.
