In the Land of Blood and Honey director, Angelina Jolie has praised the cast that were put together for her movie, claiming that she learnt an awful lot from them about what she was trying to achieve. Angelina admitted that she never even considered casting herself in the movie, as she believed that the Bosnian actors were better equipped to relate to the real life war story and were certainly far more qualified in that department than she was.
Jolie explained, "As an American actor, I don't have the depth of emotion and understanding and the commitment to art and the ability that people have from this region of the world.” She then continued by adding, "They're well beyond me when it comes to being an artist."
Angelina Jolie also stated that the cast and crew of In the Land of Blood and Honey had become like a second family to her and that she will love and cherish them forever.
