Actress Anna Faris has played some very interesting roles of the years, with the Scary Movie films, Lost in Translation and The Dictator, as well as memorable roles in Friends and Entourage. Now, Anna plays the role of Christy in the new CBS series Mom and she has spoken about her excitement at playing the character.
Farris CBS News, "I just love the complexity. In a lot of the films that I've done, I feel like I've played...oh...a very simple character. She sort of tests the audience's patience and acceptance of her. I think she makes choices that don't always make her the most lovable person all the time."
She added, "I loved the dimension of the character. I loved how flawed she was I love that has such a specific journey and struggle -- that she had made so many mistakes in her past and was now sort of turning her life around, [trying to] be more generous with her children and provide for them. I loved starting from that place when she still feels very guilty."
As well as starring Anna Faris, Mom also stars Allison Janney, Matt Jones and Angelo Romanelli, to name just a few. Mom is created by Chuck Lorre, the mastermind behind Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory, and airs on CBS on Monday evenings.
