Anne Hathaway reportedly beat out many of Hollywood's top actresses for the role of Catwoman, and the first stills from her audition/screen test have actually been released online as part of the special DVD set for 'The Dark Knight Rises'.
The stills actually look remarkably similar to how she looked in the movie, so they're probably from the screen test. In fact, the only real difference seems to really be that her hair is properly mussed instead of slicked back. Other than that, she's still wearing her signature red lipstick, as well as wearing the trademark catsuit and cat ears.
Christian Bale's audition for Batman was also released, along with a screen test revealing that Cillan Murphy had also screen tested for Batman at one point.
In the next incarnation of Batman, Ben Affleck will be playing the caped crusader, alongside Heny Cavill's Superman. Bale and Hathaway won't return to the universe, and neither will Murphy. According to the producers and executives in charge of the film, there will be no mention of Nolan's Batman universe in the new film. These three films - Batman Begins, the Dark Knight, and the Dark Knight Rises - exist independently.
