It was reported way back in November of 2010, that there were plans afoot to completely reboot the Buffy the Vampire Slayer franchise with a brand new movie in the process of being written, although Joss Whedon did not seem to be on board. However, Anthony Head, who played Giles in the hit television series, claims that it would be wrong to do such a thing without creator Joss Whedon involved in the project.
When asked if he would be reprising his role as Giles for the movie reboot, Head stated, "Not if Joss Whedon wasn't involved no. No, absolutely no!” He then added, "It's Joss Whedon's project, it's his baby, why anyone would think they could make a film without him I don't understand. It's just illogical."
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot was being penned by Whit Anderson but Whit has since left the project, leaving it in need of a new writer. As for Anthony Head, he can currently be seen on the big screen in the UK, starring alongside Meryl Streep, in the movie The Iron Lady, which is set to be released in the US on January 13, 2012.
