It has been several months now since those Jennette McCurdy topless pictures were leaked online and, while it was fairly obvious back then that the Nickelodeon series Sam & Cat was going to get cancelled because of the scandal, it has taken some time for the cancellation to be officially announced. That announcement has now been made though, to the disappointment of everyone involved in the show.
Jennette McCurdy was not the only big star in Sam & Cat though, as actress Ariana Grande was the other half of the duo and she is clearly upset by the show being cancelled. Ariana took to her official Twitter account to send a long and heartfelt thank you to everyone that has made Sam & Cat as successful as it was over the past year or so.
Some people have come out to suggest that Ariana Grande snubbed Jennette McCurdy in her thank you speech but this is not the case at all. The opening sentence thanks the cast and crew of the show and, if we are not mistaken, Jennette is a member of the cast. The only person who does get a mention by name is Dan Schneider, who created the show.
Now that Sam & Cat has been cancelled, it is unlikely that we will see Ariana Grande returning to Nickelodeon for anymore shows. Ariana has been enjoying huge success with her music career and we are convinced that this will now be her main focus. If Grande does decided to go back into acting at some point, it will no doubt be in the movies.
