Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed how he tried to tame Johnny Knoxville, on the set of their new movie The Last Stand. Arnold says that he gave Johnny some words of advice about movie stunts but Johnny paid no attention to him.

Schwarzenegger told Cover Media, “I was not about - at all - to try a Jackass stunt. Because as you know, in his movies the stunts work very well when they fail; that's when people laugh. When he crashes and things happen and he breaks his bones and is hospitalised and the building falls away... That's when people laugh. Or when everyone else gets hurt. So I wasn't about to try that.”
He added, “I tried to explain that to Johnny, 'This is now a different movie, it's not that type - let's make things work.' And of course he didn't listen all the time. Remember this telephone pole he climbed up? Well this really was him up there.”

Arnold continued, “He got into the situation where the thing crashed, when he was on it, onto the truck and we all thought he was going to be dead. I told him so many times, 'Don't try to do that because we will have to close down the set if you get hurt.' [He'd reply,] 'No, no, this was really fun. What a fun ride, hey?”
As well as starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Johnny Knoxville, The Last Stand also stars Forest Whitaker, Jaimie Alexander and Luis Guzman. The Last Stand was released in the US on January 18 and is set to be released in the UK on January 24.
