When The CW announced that their hit television series Smallville was coming to an end, a lot of the fans of the show were unsure how they were going to fill the gap that was left by the series. Fortunately though, The CW then decided to give us a new series based on the DC hero Green Arrow, with actor Stephen Amell in the lead role, and the show Arrow has gone on to be a big success.
The Arrow season two finale will air on The CW later tonight and executive producer Marc Guggenheim has been talking about the episode. Marc says that the Arrow season two finale will bring an end to the first chapter of the story of Green Arrow, with Arrow season three then being the beginning of a new story for the character.
Guggenheim told TV Line, "The way we've been approaching season 3 is [with the] recognition that the season finale of season 2 doesn't feel like just a conclusion of season 2, but rather a conclusion of seasons 1 and 2 – that we were telling one, big 46-episode story."
Marc then went on to state that he has high hopes for Arrow season three and what he wants the fans of the show to take from the new season. He claims that the Arrow season two finale will definitely bring closure to a lot of issues in the show, which will lead nicely into the new story for Arrow season three.
Guggenheim added, "The season finale really gives you a strong sense of closure and that a chapter really, truly is finished. My hope is that it'll do so in a way that will make people go, 'Wow, this story may be over, but I'm really interested in seeing what the next story they tell with these characters is'."
The Arrow season two finale will air on The CW tonight (Wednesday, May, 14) at 8/7c.
