It has been a long and trying eight years for Arsenal fans, who have watched their team try to fail to win any silverware since their FA Cup success in 2005. However, with the club making huge profits, they now have the spending power to compete with the top clubs in Europe.
That was proven when Arsenal splashed out £42.5m on the German Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil and it looks like they still have plenty more cash to splash in the January transfer window. Arsenal have been watching 21-year-old Basel defender Fabian Shar, who they would consider a great addition to the squad.
Fabian Schar has an impressive goal scoring record for a centre back, having notched up five goals in 10 appearances this season. Fabian has also represented Switzerland three times and has been putting in some impressive performances in the past year or so.
With that said, Arsenal are not the only club looking at Fabian Schar, as Italian giants Juventus are also keen on signing the defender. With the amount of players that have slipped through Arsenal's fingers and ended up at other clubs over the years, it would not be surprising if Fabian Schar ended up at Juventus. Watch this space.
