Nottinghamshire came out on top after being awarded Ashes Tests in both 2013 and 2015 by the England and Wales Cricket Board today.
This is great news for the county and puts them alongside Lord's and the Oval in playing host to the test in the next two Ashes. During the bidding process Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club said they had done all in their power to convince the board they were the right choice to host the games alongside Lord’s and the Oval saying “Throughout the bidding process we have done all we can to bring an Ashes Test to Trent Bridge.”.
NCCC recently spent millions of pounds upgrading facilities at their ground so the news will come as welcomed and satisfy the people at the top who pushed for the required investment in this area of the club.
