It has been reported that Ashton Kutcher has been signed up to play Steve Jobs in a movie about his life. While many believed this to be an April Fool’s joke, since the news broke yesterday (April 1), it turns out that it is actually completely true.

It seems an odd decision to cast an actor of Ashton Kutcher’s, obviously limited, ability. In everything he ever does, he always just seems to be playing himself. The Butterfly Effect was arguably his best, and most serious, role but even then you could feel Ashton Kutcher coming through his character.
However, the decision has been made and Ashton Kutcher will get the chance to prove many people wrong, by doing a fantastic job on the movie. Steve Jobs was the co-founder of Apple and considered by many as the driving force behind the technology giants. He died in October last year at the age of 56.

The Steve Jobs biopic is expected to begin production in May and it is believed that the movie will follow Steve’s life, from "wayward hippie" to "revered creative entrepreneur". Matt Whiteley has developed the screenplay for the movie, which will be directed by Joshua Michael Stern.
