Asin Thottumkal is a star in both Bollywood and South Indian films and as such she is constantly provided the opportunity to film roles in both regions. Unfortunately for her, there is only one Asin Thottumkal and she cannot be in two, three or four places at one time.
The actress was rumoured to have been offered the leading lady role in the regional versions of Kangana Ranaut's movie "Queen". The film directors were excited about the possibility of her playing the role because she is one of the few actresses who is fluent in all four South Indian languages and thus would be able to perform the roles.
However, there was only one glitch and that was that she had already committed herself to filming a highly anticipated Bollywood film with Abhishek Bachchan under the direction of Umesh Shukla.
The actress who first became established as an actress in the South Indian film industry, upon receiving the offer was very interested but she allegedly decided to decline the offer because she is focusing on her Hindi Bollywood films and she just does not have the time.
She is an actress in demand but this recent decision has heightened her appeal with filmmakers because she did not accept the role even though she was interested as it is rare for an actor to give up the opportunity to work in 4 films!. If she had accepted the role the logistics would have been a nightmare because she would be trying to film her Bollywood and South Indian projects at the same time and such an attempt could have impacted the quality of the film.
Filmmakers appreciate an actress who takes into consideration the importance of not trying to do to many projects and it is another reason why Asin Thottumkaal is viewed in such high regard with the best filmmakers in both Bollywood and the South Indian film industries.
