Audley Harrison has not retired and may box on

Sydney 2000 Olympic gold medallist Audley Harrison had the world at his feet after his impressive performances at those Olympic games. Audley could have had his pick of promoters and was set to become the next big British star in heavyweight boxing.

Unfortunately, just over 12 years after winning that gold medal, Audley Harrison is on the verge of retiring as one of British boxings biggest disappointment. Audley Harrison opted to promote himself when he turned professional, which was the start of a career full of mistakes.

On Saturday, Audley Harrison was destroyed in just 82 seconds by upcoming and promising heavyweight David Price. This led to many calling for Audley to hang up his gloves and turn his back on the sport which gave him so much and got so little in return.

We at FansShare contacted Audley Harrison’s team to find out when he would be announcing his retirement but it appears that Audley is going to take some time off with his family to think about where his future lies and may even decided to box on.

We hope for his sake that Audley Harrison does decide to retire from boxing before he ends up getting seriously hurt.
