It has been claimed that British heavyweight embarrassment, A Force Audley Harrison could be set to get a shot at the British Heavyweight title later this year. Audley Harrison makes his comeback against Ali Adams on May 26 and it could be a launch pad back into the big time.
It is believed that, should Audley Harrison beat Ali Adams, which he should do quite easily, then he will get a shot at the British heavyweight title. Tyson Fury recently relinquished the British heavyweight title, meaning that it is currently up for grabs.
However, unbeaten heavyweight hope David Price is set to take on Sam Sexton for the British heavyweight title in May, with the winner set to give Audley Harrison one last chance to prove himself. If Audley did go on to win the British title, it could open up the door for one last shot at a world title.
Audley Harrison was expected to be one of Britain’s great heavyweight boxers, after he won his Gold medal at the Olympics in 2000. However, he has become a laughing stock of the sport and many believe he should retire. Yet this final role of the dice could spur Audley on and see him show that talent that was so obvious 12 years ago.
