Over the years we have seen a lot of very good basketball players coming and going, some of whom will go down as all time greats of the game but, with that said, it is fair to say that there has never been, and arguably never will be, anyone who comes close to the great Michael Jordan. The name Michael Jordan has become synonymous with basketball and is a name known around the entire world.
However, it looks like we could have the closest thing to the talent of Michael Jordan about to make their way on to the NBA scene, with 18-year-old Australian basketball star Dante Exum being heavily compared to a young Michael Jordan. Dante has decided to skip the college basketball program and head straight to the pro-ranks, with many tipping him to become a future hall of fame star.
Analyst Fran Fraschilla told American radio program ESPN LA, "He reminds me of a young, 1982-circa North Carolina Michael Jordan. He's not going to be as great, obviously - unless I'm wrong - but he kind of reminds you of a young colt that's just about to run his first claimer race, and you're looking at him going 'this guy could win the Kentucky Derby some day'."
It has also been suggested that Dante Exum could find himself being a top five pick in the NBA draft in June, with some even claiming he could be picked in the top three, a huge achievement for any 18-year-old. The Los Angeles Lakers are believed to be very interested in Dante Exum and, since he is a Lakers fan, it would be no surprise if they landed him. Remember the name Dante Exum as he is set for a huge future.
