Canadian singing and songwriting sensation is popular with fans in Brazil as she is currently leading in votes for Teen Awards Brazil 2014 by a big margin over names such as Ariana Grand and Shakira but she is not popular with some of her fellow artists such as the songwriter Sia who recently stated that she has not interest in writing a song for her because she considered her to be 'bratty'.

The disclosure was a surprise because most fans see the 'bratty' persona of Avril Lavigne as one of the characteristics that make her so popular as a punk princess.

The world of music might never see a collaboration between Avril Lavigne and Sia but that does not seem to have any impact on her popularity in Brazil. The diminutive punk princess performed some new songs while on tour in Brazil and she has become one of the favourite performers in the country.

At the moment it looks like she might have to make a return trip to the country for the Brazilian Teen Awards because it is looking like the fans are going to vote her as a winner of an award.

The feisty, popular and controversial ("Hello Kitty") singer has started to receive questions about having children as she approaches her 30th birthday. In her response to the question from entertainment reporters she admits to loving kids and wanting to one day be a mom but her focus at the moment is on her music and career.

The singer who still looks young and loves to have fun admits that even though she will be turning 30 in 2014 and is known as a woman who enjoys to party she does not have a plan yet for how she will celebrate her birthday but she is hoping to have a big party.

Avril Lavigne may not be a favourite of Sia but the songs of the punk princess are love by many fans, especially the younger generation in Brazil and it is an affection that she does not take for granted.
