Bane co-creator Chuck Dixon discusses The Dark Knight Rises plot

Chuck Dixon is a legend among comic book fans and was one of the people involved in creating the Batman villain Bane. With Bane set to appear on the big screen in The Dark Knight Rises, Chuck has been discussing the difficulties that Christopher Nolan may have had portraying certain aspects of Bane onto the big screen.

Dixon explained to Comic Book Movie, “No clue. From the latest trailer it certainly looks like there’s a downfall coming for Bruce Wayne. But I’m guessing like everyone else. He’s pretty clearly drawn. Maybe his difficulty in relating to women. He was raised in an all-male world and seems flummoxed by the women he meets.” Chuck then discussed whether he had a particular actor in mind for Bane.

He added, “Not really. I was just hoping it would be someone who could act. Tom Hardy fits that description. He’s very talented. I haven’t heard enough of the voice. But his speaking voice in other movies has the right timbre. And he does accents well. His Philadelphia accent in Warriors sounded right to me, even though his character was supposed to be from Pittsburgh.”

The Dark Knight Rises is the third and final instalment of the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy and will also see Christian Bale portraying the Caped Crusader for the third and final time. The Dark Knight Rises is set to be released on July 20.
