There are sometimes some big football matches that get built up so much before hand that, when it finally comes to the game itself, it turns out to be a bit of a disappointment and a let down. So, with the massive build up to the El Clasico, which sees Barcelona taking on Real Madrid, we were a little worried that it was going to struggle to live up to expectations.
Lionel Messi bagged himself a hat-trick

How wrong we were. Barcelona and Real Madrid put on a fantastic show and it was a real treat to watch such a hugely competitive match by two teams with everything to play for. At the start of play, Real Madrid were looking to take all three points to move them three points clear at the top and move seven points clear of Barcelona, all but putting them out of the title race.

However, things did not pan out that way and Barcelona managed to win the game 4-3, taking all three points and moving within a point of Real Madrid and Athletico Madrid, putting them right back in the title race. The game had everything, including two penalties for Barcelona, one penalty for Real Madrid and a red card for Sergio Ramos.

Andres Iniesta gave Barcelona the lead on 7 minutes, before Karim Benzema scored on 20 and 24 minutes to give Real Madrid the lead, followed by an equaliser from Lionel Messi on 42 minutes, leaving the score at 2-2 going into half-time. Real Madrid took the lead again on 55 minutes with a penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo, before Lionel Messi scored two penalties to bag himself a hat-trick and give Barcelona the 4-3 win.

It looks like La Liga really is going to go all the way to the wire this season. Who do you think will win it?
