Having established her talent as an actress on the small screen first as Meg Demoys in the TV drama Blackout, and most recently playing Emma Decody in the popular horror series Bates Motel, Olivia Cooke is finally heading to the big screen.
Cooke's upcoming film, The Quiet Ones recently wrapped up filming and is a horror film based on a true story. Set in the early 1970's, the film's story revolves around an eccentric University physics professor who assembles a team of students for a controversial project: trying to create a poltergeist. Additional cast members include Jared Harris (Lane Pryce, Mad Men) as the professor, and Sam Claflin (Finnick Odair, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) as student Brian McNeil. Lionsgate studios recently won the right to distribute the film, and have set a release date of April 25, 2014.
Olivia will also play a starring role in The Signal - a sci-fi thriller featuring a group of college students lured to a remote desert by a devious hacker. The movie is in post-production. Cooke will star alongside big name stars such as Laurence Fishbourne (The Colony, CSI: NY, The Matrix) and Brenton Thwaites (Home and Away). This film is also expected to release sometime in 2014.
Of course, Bates Motel will also be returning to TV in 2014, having just been renewed for a 10-episode second season.
