It is common knowledge that once The Dark Knight Rises has been completed, that will be the end of the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy and he will be handing over to somebody else. It has already been confirmed by Warner Bros. that the Batman franchise will once again be rebooted, but it seems that The Dark Knight Rises may not be the end of the Christopher Nolan and Batman relationship.
Warner Bros. chief, Jeff Robinov explained, “We have the third Batman, but then we’ll have to reinvent Batman.” When asked if he was talking about a complete reboot, he added, “I [am]. Chris Nolan and [producing partner and wife] Emma Thomas will be producing it, so it will be a conversation with them about what the next phase is.” So not the end of Christopher Nolan and Batman after all.
However, how can the Batman franchise be completely reinvented and rebooted, if the current director is involved in the project? Surely a new director will have their own ideas and will not want the previous director getting in the way? It is believed that a Justice League movie will be where we are introduced to the new Batman before the new Batman movie reboot is released. Do not expect to see the new Batman reboot any time before 2015.
