Emmy Rossum stars in the movie Beautiful Creatures, which is released this week, and she once again plays a bad girl character. Emmy has admitted that her recent role choices may give off the impression that she loves playing the bad girl but it is more about bringing a sensitivity to these characters.

Rossum was talking to Collider, when she explained, “I guess you would think that from my recent choices, but yeah. It’s fun for me to add a humanity and an emotional understanding to these kinds of characters.”
She added, “I think it would be really easy to play them as one-note evil, or for my character on Shameless as just the bad girl from the bad neighborhood. But for me, it’s interesting to add backstory and to add a sensitivity that hopefully will get the audience to get on the bad side with me because it’s fun over there.”

Beautiful Creatures scene
As well as starring Emmy Rossum, Beautiful Creatures also stars Emma Thompson, Jeremy Irons and Alice Englert. Beautiful Creatures is written and directed by Richard LaGravanese and was released today in the UK, before being released in the US tomorrow (February 14).
