Comic book movie fans around the world were delighted when it was announced that Sony had agreed to let Spider-Man join the Marvel Cinematic Universe and, since then, we have been given plenty of casting news for the film. Meanwhile, there have also been plenty of other rumours about which characters we will see in Spider-Man: Homecoming and which stars will play the roles.
One of the most talked about characters is that of Mary Jane Watson, with plenty of names being linked to the role, including the beautiful and talented Bella Thorne. However, Bella has now spoken out about the Marvel Cinematic Universe, stating that she would actually love to play a strong female superhero, along the lines of Deadpool.
Thorne explained, "I’d be so down to play like a badass Marvel character. Any type of badass female in live-action, like Cora is in this movie [Ratchet And Clank]. I also like playing roles that are very rebellious and real. So it’s good when you really show teenagers for how they actually act and how they actually talk. Honestly, if I could just play a female version of ‘Deadpool’ – any character that’s a female version of ‘Deadpool’ – I’m so down!"
While she does not directly rule out the possibility of playing Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Bella Thorne does make it perfectly clear that she would much rather play a superhero than a love interest. Meanwhile, it has still not even been confirmed that we will get to see Mary Jane Watson appearing in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to hit the big screen on July 7, 2017 in the US and July 28, 2017 in the UK.
