When it was first announced that Ben Affleck would be starring in a film with Kristen Stewart, there were immediate rumors that this could lead to another Rupert Sanders-esque cheating scandal. Many assumed that Stewart could cheat on Robert Pattinson again, this time with Affleck. Of course, despite these rumors, Stewart confirmed her involvement with the film a couple of weeks ago.

However, it was announced yesterday that Affleck ended up dropping out of the film, citing scheduling issues. He does have a multitude of other films in development right now, but nothing really seems to be pressing. So, what was the real reason for him dropping out of the film?
One of the reasons floating around is that Jennifer Garner ended up putting an end to Affleck’s involvement in the film due to worries about Stewart [a theory also floated around by LaineyGossip]. Stewart has unfortunately developed a reputation following the Rupert Sanders scandal of an actress that will sleep with her married director, and Affleck fits the profile. Of course, it’s a professional gig and Affleck is more established and seems more mature than Rupert Sanders, but these sorts of incidents are hard to guess in Hollywood.

Would Affleck actually cheat on his wife? There were rumors of a possible incident with him and Blake Lively during the film of ‘The Town’, but no concrete evidence was ever turned up. However, tabloids are a lot more interested in Stewart than Lively and if something were to happen, it’s much more likely that the paparazzi would manage to capture Stewart in a compromising position [as they did this summer with her and Rupert Sanders].
