SNL is aiming for ratings gold with Kanye West and Ben Affleck. It has just been announced that both Affleck and West have been tapped as the hosts for the season finale of Saturday Night Live, which means that the network is hoping to bring in more viewers.
SNL is preparing for some big appearances next month, because they're also having Kristen Wiig return for the first time since she left the show last year. Wiig will be returning to host the May 11th show, and Zach Galifianakis will be hosting the May 4th show. Zach is always a reliable ratings draw for SNL, due to his association with Between To Ferns, and Wiig is pretty much a guaranteed audience draw.
The real question is whether Affleck and West will be able to bring in audiences. Affleck is coming off a career high with Argo, which just won the Oscar for Best Picture. Kanye West, of course, has always had a loyal audience and since his relationship with Kim Kardashian, he's been a constant presence in the tabloids.
Let us know what you think of the hosts in the comments. Will you be tuning in for the season finale of SNL this year?
