British actor Benedict Cumberbatch has become one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood, in recent years, thanks to some very impressive performances on both the big screen and the small screen. Benedict Cumberbatch will play the role of Thomas Edison in The Current War, with Hollywood superstar Jake Gyllenhaal taking on the role of George Westinghouse. The Current War will be directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, based on the screenplay developed by Michael Mitnick, with the movie unlikely to hit the big screen until some time in 2017.
