Benedict Cumberbatch recently made an appearance at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, and received an incredibly warm reception from the masses of Sherlock fans in the audience. One of the questions Cumberbatch was asked was whether he tweeted, and he seemed almost confused by the question.

He asks the audience whether they want him to tweet, and the audience responds with a resounding affirmative. He first asks them why, and then proceeds to answer his own question with, “I think the reason why is because I don’t tweet. I think if I did you’d very soon be disappointed because it really is a skill – it’s a skill I genuinely don’t have. Just listen to how much I talk. I’ve already talked over our time [at the Cheltenham Literature Festival] and tweeting is about being pithy. I think tweeting would take so many hours of editing I’d be lost for doing my job.”
When asked if he would ever put a committee, PR advisors, or someone else to do his tweeting, Cumberbatch replies, “That’s – that’s not tweeting.” His co-star from Sherlocks who was interviewing him, Louise Brealey, joked, “You just need to put a PA on it.”
Benedict Cumberbatch also recently spoke about not having the 'right nose' for playing Sherlock.
