The news reports and rumours surrounding the Star Wars: Episode VII movie have been coming thick and fast just lately, with a whole host of Hollywood stars being linked to potential roles in the film. While it is almost a given that we will see plenty of characters from the original Star Wars trilogy appearing in Star Wars: Episode VII, there are still plenty of new characters that need casting.
One of the many Hollywood actors who has been linked to appearing in Star Wars: Episode VII is British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who previously worked with director J.J. Abrams on the movie Star Trek Into Darkness. Fans have been calling for the British star to appear in Star Wars: Episode VII but it looks like they are set to be very disappointed.
Benedict has now responded to the calls for him to be in Star Wars: Episode VII, admitting that it is very unlikely that he will be able to make an appearance in the movie, "I would’ve liked a part in JJ’s new Star Wars but it won’t happen sadly," Cumberbatch explained. With that said, Benedict Cumberbatch did deny that he was playing Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness and we all know how that turned out.
There are plenty more Hollywood stars being linked to roles in Star Wars: Episode VII, including Adam Driver and Lupita Nyong'o, although we are still awaiting official casting confirmation. Star Wars: Episode VII will begin shooting later in the year and will open on December 18, 2015 in both the US and the UK.
